How to Display Link Description for Users

Links in WordPress. Permalink. WordPress Link. WordPress PermalinkSometimes you might want to display link description for your users before they click on them, this gives them the ideology of what they are doing and what they should expect after clicking on them. In this post, we’ll show you how you can display link description below your links in your template.

Update: Please note that Link Manager was sort of removed in WordPress 3.5. We recommend that you use WordPress menus because they are much more flexible.

First, locate the following code in your sidebar.php:

?php wp_list_bookmarks();

Then replace it with the one below:

?php wp_list_bookmarks('show_description=1&between=<br />');

This will allow you to display links description below each blogroll link. Now, this can also be done through your Widgets in the wp-admin panel if your theme is widget enabled.
